Please make a donation to NorthStar’s Reaching for the Stars Campaign during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6) and National Providers’ Day (May 6) – recognizing child care providers, teachers and other educators of young children everywhere.
Early childhood educators, alongside parents, are young children’s first teachers, at the time in children’s lives when their brain growth is rapid. NorthStar has close to a 50 year commitment to excellence in the early education and care of our youngest and most vulnerable residents. Our early ed programs are cutting edge and trauma/mental health informed. 95% of NorthStar children are kindergarten ready compared to the average of 66% statewide.

NorthStar’s Reaching for the Stars Campaign
NorthStar is so delighted to be moving increasingly closer to breaking ground on our new Early Education and Community Center in New Bedford’s south end. This new Center will expand our early childhood education capacity, create jobs and meet many additional community needs. We have raised over $1.6M dollars toward our $2.5M philanthropic goal for this project. Your donation will bring us closer to the goal and to groundbreaking.

One More Reason to Make a Donation on May 6th
May 6th is Maria Rosario’s birthday. If you are getting this update, you likely know Maria, who works tirelessly on behalf of children, families and adults who live on the south coast, and who face potentially daunting challenges. If you don’t yet know Maria and would like to meet her, please reach out and we will connect you with her. Please make a donation in honor of Maria! (Maria is unaware that we are adding this to this appeal!).
