New Early Learning Academy
NorthStar has broken ground on our new, purpose-built Early Learning Academy, with the following funding updates:
- $3,025,000 in philanthropic donations from generous businesses, individuals, foundations, and NorthStar equity
- $3,059,100 in New Market Tax Credit funding (MHIC, Capital One)
- $2,500,000 in ARPA funding (city of New Bedford)
- $2,700,000 in loan funding
NorthStar is currently extending our Campaign to raise $1,000,000 to repay $700,000 in loans and raise $300,000 for equipment.
Our new Early Education & Community Center will:
- Double NorthStar’s current full-time enrollment capacity, serving a total of 134 children and families;
- Provide state-of-the-art, purpose built early education facilities, best preparing our children for their futures and our future;
- Serve as a regional laboratory school for best practices and professional development for the entire South Coast;
- Provide the community with access to exploratory play-spaces, community rooms, and our commercial kitchen, all while addressing urban blight.
Join us in investing in our children, our community, and our future!
